Zion City Tabernacle New Season day centre was launched over 10 years ago, it runs every Monday and it is open to over 55s.
We have 20 members which includes 3 new members who have joined the group during 2019. The day centre allows members to socialise informally, pray together (led by Sis Chambers), have a hot meal and drink of their choice; and more recently, gentle exercise activity have been reintroduced run by Sis Candice.
The Church has acquired a mini bus which has allowed me to organise monthly days out to interesting attractions, shopping expeditions and local beauty spots; the visits include, Lichfield National Memorial Arbo- retum, Stratford on Avon, Southport, Telford Shopping Centre and Barry Island (Wales). Whilst I am the coordinate for the day centre, it would not be possible without the support of sis Veda Lear, Sis Joan Nelson, Sis Paulette Spark, Sis Pearl Gordon, Sis Smith, Sis Brenda Lawrence all of whom help with the catering function of the day centre and Sis Candice for her healthy and fun exercise sessions. Also, major gratitude to Bro Trevor McClaren and Bro Barry for driving the minibus, including Bro Barry for taking me monthly food shopping to stock up for the Day Centre.
Finally, thank you to Zion City Tabernacle church and the day centre members for making New Season Day Centre possible.
Missionary Carol Brown
New Season Day Centre coordinator.
At the beginning of the year ZCT purchased our own minibus. It has been a long time coming! It is proving to be a great resource for the church. The Day Centre have benefited especially, making it far easier for members to attend on a Monday. The group have also used the minibus to visit places near and far, ranging from Lichfield Cathedral to Barry Island!
The minibus is also used on a Sunday morning to ferry Sunday School children and others to and from. Again, if you require transportation for our church services please contact them. There are just two more things we need.
